After retiring from education, I'm bringing a lifetime of building, teaching, and leading — spanning Career & Technical Education, classroom teaching, and administration — into my next chapter. Before that, I spent more than a decade in foodservice as a chef, learning the value of craft, discipline, and creating something memorable for others. Lost Ventures, LLC is our next big adventure, and I don't take it alone; my daughter joins me as our Chief Marketing Officer, leading our social media and brand presence. Join us as we build a venture that blends forged worlds and forged steel. A place where storytelling, hands-on craftsmanship, and community come together in one shared journey.

In my various professions, writing has long been in my toolkit — something that I return to again and again. As an educator, I've always believed lifelong learning matters. That's why, four years ago, I took up welding and trained under seasoned professionals. Now, as I add blacksmithing and forging to that foundation, I'm learning to interweave an array of skills—bringing stories to life on the page and shaping steel into pieces you can hold.

I write primarily for my granddaughter. My approach to epic fantasy is show-don't-tell—grounded in physical detail and sensory experience where you know characters by how they move, what they notice, and what they leave unsaid. Worldbuilding emerges organically through perspective rather than exposition and I trust my readers to feel emotional weight without explanation. Expect medieval atmosphere, relationships built through gesture, and a world that unfolds naturally as the story progresses.
